ANIMAL BEHAVIOR COLLEGE LAUNCHES
PROFESSIONAL GROOMING PROGRAM
LOS ANGELES, Calif., January 8, 2010 - Animal Behavior College (ABC) ushered in the new decade by launching a Certified Grooming Instruction program (www.BecomeAGroomer.com)
, completing the trilogy of the college's current animal-related career training programs.
"In a time where ingenuity for new businesses is of the essence, I am proud to contribute a program that grants graduates the opportunity to develop an expertise in the ever-growing pet industry," says Steven Appelbaum, President of Animal Behavior College.
The new Grooming Instruction Program will train students to become professional pet groomers and rewards graduates with an artistic profession that helps to improve the appearance and well-being of pets. Professional groomers have the opportunity to seek employment in grooming salons, mobile grooming enterprises, animal shelters, veterinary offices, or even start their own grooming businesses.
While the economy slowly begins to mend itself in this new year, the animal industry continues to prosper, demonstrating the industry's stability in spite of economic despair. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), "Employment of animal care and service workers is expected to grow 19 percent over the 2006-16 decade, faster than average for all occupations." The BLS goes on to forecast that "The companion pet population, which drives employment of animal caretakers in kennels, grooming shops, animal shelters, and veterinary clinics and hospitals, is expected to increase."
Animal Behavior College hopes to capitalize on this growth by training its students for a variety of viable careers in the pet industry.
The Certified Grooming Instruction program is structured along the same model as Animal Behavior College's two other animal-career training courses, the Certified Dog Obedience Instructor Training program and the Certified Veterinary Assistant program. All of ABC's courses combine in-home study with hands-on training, allowing the college to enroll students nationwide.
Animal Behavior College (ABC) is a vocational school that specializes in animal-related career training. ABC currently offers three programs - a Certified Dog Obedience Instructor training program, a Certified Veterinary Assistant program and a Certified Grooming Instruction program. ABC has training locations nationwide as well as in Canada and is the premier school for animal lovers who wish to pursue animal-related careers.
