Lynnda Ferguson ABCVA

Friday, April 01, 2011 : 9:53:35 AM
Lynnda Ferguson ABCVA, had an successful acting career that spanned over two decades but she felt that something was missing in her life. She was scared to make a change until a fight for her life with cancer changed everything. She says, “My true passion has always been animals; my miniature schnauzer Liesel, who died 8 years ago and my horse Ajax, who I had to leave on the west coast when I moved to New York, are the loves of my life. After beating cancer, I decided to follow my passion; working in the veterinary industry and helping animals is a dream come true for me.”

Lynnda credits ABC’s unique and supportive learning approach with helping her succeed in her education. She credits her supportive program manager and says, “Apart from the actual knowledge, the best thing about the program was my program manager, Ashlie Herring. She was incredibly supportive and helpful. Cheerful and patient, she always had time for me when I was confused or needed a bit of coaching.” Lynnda was also a big fan of the at home learning portion of ABC’s curriculum and says, “I loved that I could study on my own time and in my pajamas if I wanted to.”

Becoming a Certified Veterinary Assistant is a dream come true for Lynnda and she says, “I know I will be a success in the industry thanks to the knowledge I've gained at ABC and my passion for the work.” Lynnda is currently working as a Vet Assistant at Bergh Animal Hospital in New York City.
