Top Gunner Academy was founded in 2017 with the idea to help everyone to have the best-behaved dog as their “Wingman” by their side. Top Gunner Academy focuses on using real-life situations by coming to your home and helping to train your dog with positive reinforcement methods to be the best he/she can be. I believe that by working in your home where you are experiencing problem behavior, we can better address the situation with a solution that works for both you and your dog. Whether you’re looking for a few tips, or need help picking your first/next puppy and training from the first sit to Canine Good Citizen prep, I am here to help. Busy schedule? With my flexible hours and in-home program, I can help you fit training into everyday situations with your dog and create a more harmonious relationship.
Graduating from the Animal Behavior College as a Certified Dog Trainer in August 2017, I (Christy Schwanke Owner/Trainer), have had life long experience with riding and training horses and have always had a dog by my side. In August 2016 I decided to expand my knowledge to dog training and enrolled in the Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer Course. After a year of studying, 12 exams and an eighteen (18) week externship program, I was able to graduate with a 90 /higher test score average.
Gunner, adopted from Collar of Hope Dog Rescue, has been an ongoing inspiration not only for becoming a dog trainer, but also for my teaching style and business name.
