Emily specializes in behavioral management, obedience training and problem solving. She started her career in training dogs at the age of 13 where she assisted professional trainers and by the time she was 17 years old, was offering private sessions in her local area.
Emily’s experience include head dog trainer for PetSmart where she ran the company’s dog training program for her store by holding over 20 group classes a week and teaching behavioral classes for problem behaviors doing private sessions at the location.
She has then gone on to Training and monitoring off leash play groups and teaching group obedience at Kellar’s Canine Academy and then onto Petco where she was the head Dog Trainer for the entire store running their dog training programs as well. Emily is now CEO of K9 Boot Camp; her own dog training company where she offers group classes to puppy’s and adult dogs, as well as private in-home training, private on-site training, behavioral training for reactive/aggressive dogs. She also offers behavioral adjustment sessions that she calls “boosters” which help reset the dog’s brain chemistry and restore natural balance to your dogs mood and attitude.
Emily is a certified CGC evaluator; offering canine good citizen testing and prep classes, as well as puppy star classes and certification.
She is certified through the Certification council for Professional Dog Trainers earning her CPDT-KA certification and is a mentor for Animal Behavior College, taking in students with the college to mentor them through their dog training program. Emily is also a professional member of the Association For Professional Dog Trainers. APDT.
