After graduating high school, I knew that traditional college wouldn’t be the right path for me. Animal Behavior College offered me a chance to learn at my own pace, in my home, with my own very untrained dog. My certification came quickly and easily with the help of my star pupil, a Border Collie mix named Willow. She was eager to learn and I was eager to teach. She was highly motivated and attentive, and I got very lucky with her.
With my newly certified over confidence, I adopted a highly abused rescue Pit Bull mix named Lucy. This girl put me through more training hoops than I could have ever anticipated. In the years I’ve had her, we’ve faced everything from dog aggression, destructive behaviors, potty training, fear of almost everything, socialization, table manners, basic obedience, moving (by car) to new states twice, leash manners, people skills, getting along with cats, appropriate public behavior, jumping, and so much more. She has shown me the true power of commitment to a cause, and unconditional love. She has been an amazing teacher, student, and best friend all in one.
My training methods are personalized on a case-by-case basis, as I know well that one type of training will never work for every situation. All lesson plans being with a free phone or email consultation, followed by a no cost, no commitment evaluation in your home. During our meet and greet, we will discuss your goals and needs for training, the challenges your pack is facing and possible ways to overcome them together, your schedule and your budget. This time allows us to communicate on a deeper level, as well as allowing me to get a better understanding of your pack dynamic, and your dog’s personality and motivations.
My training programs generally last for around one hour per week, for 6-8 weeks or as long as needed. These lessons are usually family friendly, and I highly encourage children of all ages to be involved. The more people on the same page, the better!
My training prices do vary some based off of your individual training needs and your budget. I believe that you should never have to decide between having dinner or having a good dog.
Please feel free to call me with any questions, or to set up a consultation. A good dog is only one phone call away!
