About the ABC Cat Training Certification

Start a Career Training Cats

Earning your cat training certification is a good choice if you have a passion for felines. By pursuing a career training cats you will help pet owners, but more importantly you will be helping cats. By eliminating problem behaviors like litter box refusal, scratching furniture or biting, cat trainers can literally save lives by preventing cats from being surrendered to shelters. Cats that are trained make for a happier, more peaceful household. In addition, animal shelters that take time to work with cats find that trained animals are adopted at higher rates.

What is Certification?

Certification acknowledges that you are a serious professional in your chosen field who has obtained a level of expertise through your personal study and education. Upon graduating the ABC Cat Training Program, you will be granted certification through Animal Behavior College and will be able to use the initials ABCCT (Animal Behavior College Cat Trainer) after your name.

All cats are different and they do not all learn the same way; this is why it is important for our graduates to be well versed in a multitude of different techniques in order to help every cat and have success in every situation. Our focus is on behavioral theory and teaching our students how cats communicate, how they learn and what motivates them. Addressing and preventing unwanted behaviors, as well as training basic obedience, are all ways a cat trainer is able to help cats and families in need.

Growing Industry

Employment of animal care and service workers in the U.S. is predicted to grow 11% from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations. Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics.
