Friday, February 20, is “National Love Your Pet Day.” Animal Behavior College has created a special video that celebrates the special relationship we have with our pets and encourages all pet owners to take time everyday to appreciate their pet pals.
Even though this is an ‘unofficial’ holiday, many of us consider our pets a part of the family. With pet ownership continuing to increase, this attitude is likely not to change. In fact, 82.5 million U.S. households own a pet, according to the 2013-2014 APPA National Pet Owners Survey. No matter if, the pet is a dog, cat, bird, fish, reptile or other small animal, pets bring out the best in all of us.
How do you plan to celebrate with your pet? Do you need some ideas? Here are some ideas to consider: Give special treats, buy a new toy, play games, go biking or running. Splurge on luxury grooming packages and other special services that lavishly indulge your four-legged friend. Spend a quiet evening at home with your pet snuggled by your side. Regardless of how you choose to celebrate, the day is all about the special bond you have with your pet.
Do you have other ideas on how to celebrate “Love Your Pet Day?” If so, tell us about them.
