Meet the Pack - Externship Coordinators

Ashley "Kami" Kaminski
ABC Externship Coordinator

Ashley was born and raised in the city of Santa Clarita Valley, a small community located roughly 35 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles, California. Her love for animals is unconditional and has been a way of life for her and her family for generations.

Her childhood memories include a variety of animals ranging from cats and dogs to emu’s and ferrets, and everything in between. Her current pack consists of four dogs (Sally, Sammy, Cocoa, and Lucky), four cats (Gus-Gus, Maggie, Rocky, and Tommy), three horses (Rad, Cougar, and Scat), and last but definitely not least, a 5 year-old ferret named Booger. Ashley shared with us that although she loves all her furry family members, Sally her rescued pit-bull mix holds a special place in her heart.

Ashley brings to Animal Behavior College years of experience in animal training, pet grooming, and the animal medical industry. She learned her animal training from her mother, April, who has been training dogs since Ashley was a little girl. April in-turn learned her training from her late mother, Cheryl, an accomplished and decorated horse woman and owner of a 10-acre ranch and boarding kennel. Ashley has successfully worked with both aggressive and timid dogs and has even trained her own cats to sit on cue. She also assists her mother with the training and care of their three horses.

Ms. Kaminski’s vast animal experience also includes working in a vet hospital which she credits for her knowledge on animal first aid. Another one of Ashley’s many animal-related passions is nutritional health. She enjoys researching and studying different types of diets for different breeds and species and what the pro's and con's of each are.

Anyone who knows Ashley can attest that she has been bringing home stray animals since she was elementary school age. She has always had a weakness for the less fortunate and the heart to do something about it.

Ashley’s life is surrounded by animals and she states that she prefers it that way. Ashley also says, “Life isn’t complete without an animal to love and care for, so having a career at ABC was just icing on the cake.”

Ashley is very excited and thrilled to be part of Animal Behavior College’s pack and we are happy she calls this home!
