Santa Clarita, Calif., January 30, 2018 — Animal Behavior College (ABC), a vocational college that trains professional dog trainers, cat trainers, veterinary assistants and pet groomers nationwide and in the 10 provinces of Canada, announced today that PetAg® Inc., is sponsoring the school’s Certified Grooming Instruction (GIP) at the Gold-level. PetAg is one of the world’s leading pet product and manufacturing companies of health, wellness and grooming products for animals. This is the third year that the company is supporting GIP at this significant sponsorship level.

As a Gold-level sponsor, Pet Ag will provide, among other things, grooming product samples and information to all GIP students over the next year. They will supply product brochures for ABC GIP Graduation Packets, as well as discounts for GIP graduates. PetAg will also continue to contribute articles to ABC’s newsletter “Paw Prints” that is distributed to more than 18,000 alumni and mentors of the school.

“From pet grooming students to seasoned professionals, PetAg supports groomer education at all levels,” said Steven Appelbaum, president and CEO of Animal Behavior College. “The company is dedicated and committed to pet groomers’ success and continues to develop innovative products and provides information to help them better serve their clients. We are delighted by the level of commitment and support they have shown to us.”

PetAg is also optimistic about working with ABC to educate the next generation of pet groomers.

“PetAg is very pleased to enter our third year of partnership with ABC helping provide a strong educational foundation for young groomers to follow their passion for pet care,” said Michele Kaminski, director of marketing for PetAg.

The Hampshire, Illinois-based company is a subsidiary of PBI Gordon, Inc. based in Kansas City, Missouri. Pet Ag is the world’s leading supplier of companion animal neonate milk replacers and many other high-quality nutritional products. PetAg is also proud to include the Fresh N Clean® grooming line in its portfolio. Fresh N Clean® has been a preferred product line in the professional grooming industry for over 40 years.

As of December 31, 2017, ABC has graduated 2,639 students in GIP. Currently, there are 507 students enrolled in the program and ABC projects this number will increase this year. To date, the college has graduated and certified more than 25,000 students from all four of its core programs combined including GIP, the Dog Obedience Program (DOP), the Veterinary Assistant (VAP) and the Cat Training Program (CTP). ABC offers specialized certificates of completion in Short-Term Programs on subjects including pet massage, pet nutrition, pet sitting, training shelter dogs, and selling and teaching private lessons.
