Cat Management & Training Program Success Stories

Zakia Rahman’s Success Story!

Zakia is from Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  Her previous occupation was as a Substitute Educational Assistant for the Sheboygan Area School District.  She was also in Corporate Human Resources for MPS-India-A Macmillan Company.  She is currently a Certified Vet Assistant at Sheboygan Animal Hospital.

This was Zakia‘s response when asked what her experience at Animal Behavior College was like.

I had a very good experience with my first program manager, Jennifer Wilson.  She guided me profusely in the entire program and was always ready to clarify all the questions I had regarding the curriculum.   I am thankful to my externship coordinator, Chrystal Rey.  Her tips really helped me perform better in my externship.

My favorite part of the ABC program was the curriculum.  It was very clear and descriptive.     I chose ABC because I have been a lover of companion animals all my life. I grew up with them and rescued and volunteered for them.  I advocated for farm animals through my writing as well.

Thinking back, I am very regretful about not going to veterinary college to be a veterinarian, instead, I opted to go for my master’s degree in biotechnology and an MBA in human resources.  Being a special needs mom, and with all the responsibilities that come with it, I cannot go back to full-time college, but I am so grateful for this online program.  It allows me to be around companion animals and help them with their specific needs.  The 100 hours of externship in the Sheboygan Animal Hospital has helped me to gain experience in the vet world.   I am so thankful for the guidance of my supervisors, and all the team members of the hospital, without them, completion of the externship would not have been possible at all.  I am also grateful to them for trusting in me and offering me a job in the hospital as a vet assistant.

Presently, I am a certified vet assistant at the Sheboygan Animal Hospital.  My happiness is beyond words, and I cannot thank ABC enough for this excellent program. I did love my previous jobs, but this job, which I finally landed, is my passion.  I know that my heart is in it.

Animal Behavior College would like to thank Zakia for sharing her personal success story.  We wish her great success in her current and future career in caring for animals.
