Dog Trainer & Veterinary Assistant ABC Double Graduate Showcased in Local Paper

Animal Behavior College Graduate, Shelly Tarr, Shares Her Story in the Local Newspaper

We love to hear when our graduates are featured in the news.  Shelly Tarr, a resident of Knightstown Indiana, is a double program graduate and she received certification in Animal Behavior College’s Dog Obedience program and the Veterinary Assistant program.  Shelly’s husband is an active military member and through the Military Spouse Career Advancement Program (MyCAA), she qualified for free tuition.  Shelly’s husband did not have to relocate during her studies.   If the family had moved,  since ABC offers home learning combined with a hands-on externship program, Shelly could have received her instruction anywhere in the United States, and she would have been able to continue her courses seamlessly.

Even Students with the Busiest of Schedules Can Achieve An ABC Certification

Like many ABC students, Shelly was challenged with time constraints throughout her course. She held down a job and raised her children, and it was the program’s flexibility that made it manageable.

Shelly is now working with animals as the stable manager for the Indiana Ceremonial Unit Caisson Platoon (pictured on the right). At the stables, she grooms, trains, walks, and cares for the platoon’s horses.   She receives inquiries about dog behavioral challenges, and she is always happy to advise and council people about solutions to help curb unwanted behavior.   She feels that she is actively taking a role in helping to prevent animals from being abandoned to the local animal shelters and she is very proud of that!

Congratulations Shelly Tarr!
