Spring Travel With Your Pet

Travel with your Furry Friend this summer just got a little easier.

In an effort to help pets and pet parents stay together during the upcoming travel season, Priceline.com recently released a list of what it considers to be the “Dog-Friendliest Destinations” in the US and Canada for 2013. Rankings were based on the number of hotels within the website’s network that are listed as “pet friendly,” the number of off-leash dog parks per hundred thousand residents (source: The Trust for Public Land www.tpl.org), and the overall walkability as measured by the Walk Score of each city. In a separate announcement, Priceline.com released a list of American cities that it considers to be the most pet-friendly. Ranked according to the number of pet-friendly hotels, off-leash dog parks and walkability, those cities include:

  1. Albuquerque, NM
  2. Portland, OR
  3. Tucson, AZ
  4. Tampa, FL
  5. Indianapolis, IN
  6. Salt Lake City, UT
  7. Austin, TX
  8. Tulsa, OK
  9. LouisvilleKY
  10. San Francisco, CA
