Steve Appelbaum, the president of Animal Behavior College, was recently interviewed by ABC graduate Nan Talleno on her podcast, “Teacher’s Pet” on Pet Life Radio. The topic of the interview centered around the trainability of cats. Feline behavior issues often result from owners simply not understanding what their cats are trying to tell them. Effective training not only helps lower the incidents of cats being abandoned to shelters in the first place, it also greatly reduces the statistics of them being returned due to “failed” adoptions. Steve discusses why cats are the way they are and how humans can work within the feline psychological structure to accomplish amazing things.

Animal Behavior College
Makes The Front Page For A Local Arizona Newspaper
At ABC, we are focused on animal safety and care. Our school is owned, operated, and staffed by animal lovers who have a STRONG passion for all animals. With summer upon us an important issue for pet owners to be aware of is that there are over 5,000 pets that drown in pools every year, often because they are not trained to find the pool steps. ABC does what it can to get the word out and give the pet owning community safety tips around pools. We are always happy to read that others join our cause on pool awareness.
Recently, the Arizona newspaper, Ahwatukee Foothills News featured an article by Diana Martinez about Lisa Maldonado, who is an ABC dog training graduate and mentor trainer. Lisa teaches Canine Pool Safety and Exercise Training to help save animals lives in Arizona. In the same issue, reporter Travis Roemhild, wrote a front page cover story article about our certified dog training program at Animal Behavior College.
