October – Dog Obedience Instructor Program Student Of The Month – 2013

ABC Dog Training Program
Student of the Month
October 2013

Manny Pedroza

Dog training is in Manny Pedroza’s DNA. His father was a professional dog trainer and inspired Manny to pursue his dreams. Having just completed his externship, Manny now trains part-time, offering group, private and in-kennel training at his mentor trainer’s location in Chino, Calif. As do many students, Manny found it daunting to speak in front of group classes, but he quickly got the hang of it. Manny attributes his success to his German shepherd-like disposition: smart, strong, quick-to-learn and persistent.

  • What was your most rewarding moment as a dog trainer so far?

When an owner of a dog I worked with came up to me and thanked me for saving his dog’s life. He told me he was about to euthanize his dog Zegan because of all of her unwanted behaviors. He then went on to say that because of my hard work and dedication, he is never giving her up. She is his forever.

  • Please share a “Students Saving Lives” success story.

I worked with a red nose pit bull named Molly. She was already so beautiful and just needed a little proper training to make her shine. A few weeks after I completed my training with her, she was adopted by a great guy who showed her nothing but love and gave her a forever home. Little did I know I would see her again while in my externship. I was able to finish training her in my final series of classes as an assistant instructor. Molly completed her basic obedience training and will soon start intermediate training. She is now living happily with her new owner.

  • What is your opinion of ABC’s Dog Obedience Program?

It was worth all the hard work and dedication to save lives. It’s priceless.

  • When and how did you know you would be a success in the pet industry?

I always had a love for dogs and the amazing things they could do with proper training. That motivates me to see what I can do to make a difference in dogs’ lives. When I used the techniques I learned through ABC, tried them on own dogs and they worked, I knew I had what it takes to be a great trainer.

  • What are your future plans as a dog trainer?

I want to continue saving lives and always providing the best training possible. I want to help dogs find their forever homes with everything I learned at ABC.
